Favorite Love Trianlges

So I know this past month I have been giving love triangles a lot of heat because I generally don't like them at all, but today I will go through a very select few that get my personal stamp of approval. Not that it means anything but, hey, I'm very tough to please when it comes to love triangles. So let's look at a few that I think are pretty good.

#4: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass
I really like this one because of the characters involves. Celaena is such a kick but character and I love her on her own. Chaol is so closed off but he seems to have a very interesting past and very interesting intentions that keep you wondering about him. Dorian has so much potential to truly come into his own and prove himself as king when the time comes. I've only read the first book of this series but I like this love triangle so far because it has a lot of different directions that the author could take it in and develop the characters further. I can't wait to read on and learn more about each of them.

#3: The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa
This is a very interesting love triangle because the two opposing boys that Meghan could pick represent two very different lives that she would be choosing. I like this approach just because it is more than the people that a person is torn between, it's the life style that follows them. I have to admit, this is probably the only time when I haven't known for sure which person I preferred. I like both Puck and Ash for different reasons and while I did end up liking one more than the other, I have to say that decision wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.

#2: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
What sets this love triangle apart from most others that I have read is the perspective that it's told in. Usually, we read love triangles from, usually, a girl who is torn between two guys and she has to choose between the two. We see her side and know why she likes both but in this book, we see the story from Anna's perspective but it's the boy, St. Clair, who is torn between two girls. So we see it from the person who is an option, not the decider. I thought that was refreshing to read about and it offered a cool insight as to what other people in the love triangle were feeling and I think it adds to the fact that they aren't games and they kind of suck because you just want the whole thing to be over for Anna's sake.

#1: The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
Duh. This had to by my number one because it is the most heart wrenching love triangle anyone will ever read. Now, I will caution you, this series is not for everyone but I think that regardless of that, everyone agrees that this is the most beautiful love triangle they will probably ever read. It's the love that everyone involved has for each other that causes the most pain because Tessa wants to be with Will and Jem but can't choose because they are both honestly great guys but Will and Jem are also torn because they want to be with Tessa but they also want their practically brother to be happy. Everyone is so selfless and you can't hate any of them either so you're torn over who want Tessa to end up with and WHY CAN'T EVERYONE JUST BE HAPPY? It's so heart wrenching and warming all at once and everyone is just so lost but in a beautiful way.

So those are my top four love triangles. I know four is kind of a weird number but I honestly couldn't think of five. Well, I could, but they all ended up falling into the "boys representing different lives" category and I wanted to give different reasons for me liking the love triangles in books. So this concludes the month of love triangles and, again, I wanted to end on a good note. So I will see you guys next week with a new post. Bye!
