This title is ridiculously long. Well, this series has an interesting plot to tell you the truth. It's about a girl, Cammie, who attends a spy school. She ends up falling for a regular guy who doesn't about her secret life. This obviously ends up complicating things, especially when her mom is the principal of the school. She wants to keep meeting with him but has to hide it from her mom. The principal. Of SPY SCHOOL. Easy, right? Did you catch the sarcasm?
I have to say, this plot really intrigued me when I first found out about this book but I have to say I was pretty disappointed for a number of reasons. For one thing, there's this new girl in school, I honestly don't even remember her name, but she is pretty annoying in that she is almost too perfect. This also leads to Cammie being treated very unfairly and she doesn't even do anything about it. The mom might as well be a teenager herself. She has a love interest of her own and it feels like she has more of a teenage life than her own daughter. It's really weird at times.
But, I have to say my biggest complaint about this book is that it is so juvenile. It's so bad. This is a big issue I have with, I guess society as a whole, but people seem to think that teenagers all act a certain way. It is honestly so offensive to me. Cammie and her friends are totally boy obsessed. It makes me cringe at how childish they act. I mean seriously, I know the characters are fairly young, but I know that they have more common sense than this! If I saw I thirteen year old acting like this, Ii would want to slap them. I mean, I wouldn't, but that thought would cross my mind.
If you don't take this book seriously, this could be a fun entertaining read, but just know what you're getting into with this series. I'm not sure if I'll continue on with it but, and I could be wrong here, I think that as the series goes on the characters move through school and, hopefully, mature a little bit. I may read the next few books in the series to give it another chance, but it's not a priority. I will say that the whole spy thing was very interesting, it was what attracted me to this book in the first place, and I hope that in later books the characters mature into kick butt spies. 3 out of 5 stars.
